Sony Content Innovation Summer Associate

May 2018 - August 2018

As a Sony Content Innovation Summer Associate, I worked at the intersection of content and technology to develop next-generation interactive experiences using emerging technologies. Collaborating with a small team, I designed and prototyped an advanced content experience utilizing game engine technology (Unity/Unreal), VR/AR/MR, projection mapping, and advanced display/audio techniques to reimagine storytelling for Sony’s entertainment divisions.

Key Contributions:

  • Developed an interactive prototype leveraging game engine technology to enhance narrative experiences for film, TV, or music.

  • Explored VR/AR/MR and advanced content formats to create immersive experiences.

  • Rapidly prototyped and iterated on ideas within a fast-paced 10-week program.

  • Collaborated with Sony executives, USC faculty, and industry mentors to align innovation with business goals.

  • Showcased a final project to a panel of Sony executives, demonstrating how emerging technology can transform entertainment.

Engineering & Art:

  • Designed an interactive projection mapping game for the Ghostbusters IP.

  • Programmed a proprietary projector to track objects and hand gestures with JavaScript.

  • Implemented features such as recognizing depth and position of objects and the hand recognition so the user could interact with the media projected to the table.

  • Created 3D art for the experience using Maya and Cinema4D.

This role provided hands-on experience in technical art, game engine development, and interactive media, strengthening my ability to bridge creative and engineering disciplines in the entertainment industry.

Although the projects cannot be shared due NDA, here is a demo video of the interactive projector I worked with:
